We are delighted to announce that Anna Dannreuther, previously of Field Court Chambers, has joined Old Square Chambers.
Anna brings to chambers a wealth of experience in public, employment, and commercial law. Her practice frequently touches on novel points of law. She has been instructed as junior counsel in judicial reviews challenging the Covid-19 lockdown regulations and other measures and in the first Employment Appeal Tribunal case to consider health and safety dismissals in the Covid-19 era, in which she will soon be appearing in the Court of Appeal.
Anna has a growing interest in group litigation, and is instructed on several high-profile group litigation matters, including the Dieselgate emissions claims and the Uber drivers litigation. Anna is a UK rapporteur for the international journal Mass Claims.
In employment law, Anna has acted in a variety of cases for and against employers, including in complex multi-day trials, judicial mediations, preliminary hearings, and appeals. Recent instructions include:
Anna is also on the Legislative & Policy Committee of the Employment Lawyers Association, for which she chairs numerous consultation responses for Government and other bodies.
Before coming to the Bar, Anna qualified as a solicitor and New York State attorney and worked in international courts. She developed expertise in human rights from working in the European Court of Human Rights, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
