Andrew Bell

Overview

Andrew was called to the in Bar in November 2016, but before that worked as a full-time advocate as a solicitor from August 2012. He gained his higher rights of audience in civil courts in November 2014.

Andrew specialises in personal injury and represents both claimants and defendants in trials, inquests, application hearings, appeal hearings, case management conferences and costs management conferences. His experience encompasses road traffic accidents, employer’s liability and public liability. He has dealt with cases involving a wide range of injuries, both physical and psychological, including those leading to noise induced hearing loss and chronic pain.

Andrew also has extensive experience of a broad variety of credit hire claims, largely through defendant instructions, as well as vehicle repair cost disputes.

Between 1997 and 2007, Andrew had a previous career as a teacher, in a variety of educational establishments in both the state and independent sectors. He taught a range of social science subjects to A-level, but specialised in A-level Politics and is a published author of teaching resources in this area.

Andrew obtained a Distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law in 2008, before completing a training contract at one of the Southwest’s leading firms of solicitors.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys sport in various forms and maintains an interest in politics and education.
