Chambers is delighted to announce that Turan Hursit has been selected for the prestigious Paris Bar Exchange 2024, sponsored by the Pegasus Trust.
Turan will be spending 4 weeks in September 2024 working at Le Tutour Avocats in Paris alongside lawyers specialising in cross-jurisdictional catastrophic injury, medical negligence, and class actions. All of her work during this time will be undertaken in the French language. The exchange scheme will also include seminars at the Paris Bar School, attendance of hearings, visits to the Palais de Justice and Conseil d’Etat, marshalling with judges, networking with French lawyers, and a mock trial in the Palais de Justice before French judges.
Turan practises in clinical negligence, personal injury, the Court of Protection, inquests and public inquiries, public law, and human rights and has a particular interest in cases with an international or cross-jurisdictional dimension. Before coming to the Bar, she worked as a trainee in the research directorate of the European Court of Justice. Turan is multi-lingual and speaks fluent Turkish and French, intermediate German, and basic Spanish and Italian. She accepts instructions in Turkish and French and has experience of running cases bilingually.
