Success for UNISON / Old Square Chambers in the case of Secretary of State for Business and Trade (Respondent) v Mercer (Appellant) in the Supreme Court.

Judgment has been handed down in the case of Secretary of State for Business and Trade (Respondent) v Mercer (Appellant), in the Supreme Court.

Michael Ford KC, Stuart Brittenden KC and Alan Bogg were instructed by Shantha David and Bruce Robin from UNISON and acted for the Appellant, Fiona Mercer.

It is the first case where a court has declared legislation to be incompatible with Article 11 ECHR.
