Robin White has contributed an article to the International Employment Lawyer entitled “Rationalising “sex” and “gender” terms in the workplace?”, published on Thursday 16th December 2021.
On 15 December, the UK Supreme Court refused Christie Elan-Cane’s application for a statement that the UK Passport Office’s refusal to issue her with a gender-neutral passport was an unlawful breach of the European Convention on Human Rights.
No doubt there will be much comment on whether the UK is now behind the curve in accommodating non-binary citizens and, it is reported, that the case will now be taken to the European Court of Human Rights. But what has that to do with sex and gender in the workplace?
