Application for declaration by British Coal Corporation that the closure of 10 coal mines was now lawful granted. HELD: The court was satisfied that the requirements as to union consultation before redundancy & an independent assessment substantially to the same effect as the Modified Colliery Review Procedure on the reasonableness of the closures, as directed in R v Secretary of State for Trade, ex parte VARDY & ORS [FN 1], had now been fulfilled.
