Overview

Emily was called to the Bar in October 2019 and joined Old Square Chambers in October 2020. She specialises in clinical negligence, personal injury, inquests and Court of Protection work. Emily does both Claimant and Defendant work; however, her practice is more Claimant focused.

Emily has particular expertise in medical cases including previous mental health diagnoses. She is regularly praised by solicitors and lay clients for her skilled cross-examination, sensitive handling of clients, and thorough preparation of cases.

Before joining Chambers Emily volunteered at the Bristol and Avon Law Centre where she supported prospective recipients of welfare payments with appealing judgments.  This involved working to establish whether grounds for appeal existed, and then advised clients as to next steps, medical evidence and provided assistance at tribunals. This underpins Emily’s ability to work sensitively and communicate effectively with people with a variety of communication needs.
