Uncategorized

Queen’s Bench Division

The High Court has handed down judgment in Talbot v. GFTU, in which John Hendy QC led Rebecca Tuck and Ben Cooper, acting for the Defendants.

The case involves a dispute as to whether the Claimant, who wished to stand for election for the position of General Secretary of the General Federation of Trades Unions was validly nominated.

The court construed the rule books of the GFTU and also of Unite, and found that the claimant had not been validly nominated.
