Judgment handed down in Mackereth v DWP

The Employment Appeal Tribunal has handed down judgment in Mackereth v DWP – upholding the Employment Tribunal’s decision that the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) did not discriminate against a doctor who refused to refer to transgender clients by their preferred pronouns. Robert Moretto represented the DWP, instructed by the Government Legal Department.
