Success for Old Square in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500

News

Old Square Chambers are pleased to announce that we are again ranked as a leading set in both Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. Highlights include being recognised as a Band 1 Employment law set by Chambers and Partners. Please see full details of our rankings below:

Chambers and Partners

We are delighted to have gained seven new entries and eight promotions in this year’s edition of Chambers and Partners.

“An extremely approachable and committed set of chambers” for employment work, the team have been ranked band 1 this year, with a total of 33 individual rankings for our barristers. This includes new silk Simon Cheetham QC, taking our number of Queens Counsel rankings in the directory to 10. In recognition of her successful year, Chambers and Partners’ Employment Junior of the Year Katharine Newton moves up to band 2. New entries are also seen by Mary O’Rourke QC (Northern), Robert Moretto and Nicola Newbegin. Michael Ford QC, Ben Cooper QC, Eleena Misra, Betsan Criddle, Andrew Midgley and Spencer Keen also improve their rankings.

Our rankings for Personal Injury have also improved. We now have 13 individuals included in the coverage, including new entries David Rivers, Christopher Edwards and Sophie Beesley.

Ben Collins QC is also now ranked in Clinical Negligence as well as Employment and Professional Discipline and Katherine Howells is recognised as a leading junior in Travel Law.

We are also very proud that Chambers has been recognised in the ‘Client Service at the Bar’ category, in which we are praised for being “an extremely approachable set of chambers which puts a premium on service delivery”.

The Legal 500

We are similarly delighted to announce four new entries and eight improvements in this year’s rankings in The Legal 500.

In the Employment Law category, 30 members have been ranked as leaders, including Ben Collins QC who moves into band 4. Oliver Segal QC is now ranked in band 2 as a leading silk, while Simon Cheetham QC sees success as he is named a new silk in this year’s rankings. Melanie Tether and Katharine Newton also move up the rankings and Kara Loraine is a new entry as a leading junior in band 1 (Western).

In the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence sections, 22 members have been ranked as leaders, including Ben Collins QC who has improved his rankings for both. Charlie Woodhouse has been promoted in the Personal Injury coverage and new recruit Naomi Rees is a new entry on the Western Circuit in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence, ranked in band 1 as a leading junior.

Eleena Misra re-enters the Professional Discipline category as a leading junior in band 4 following her maternity leave. Nadia Motraghi improves her ranking, in addition to being recognised in both Employment and Administrative and Public Law. Katherine Howells is also ranked as a leading junior in both Travel Law and Aviation.
