John Hendy QC and Ben Cooper act on behalf of Unite amongst an array of high profile co counsel in the Construction Industry Vetting Information Group Litigation. The case relates to a group litigation brought against a number of construction companies, including BAM, Carillion and Lendlease, and their alleged involvement in two “blacklists” by which a large number of workers with trade union links were denied work between the 1960s and the 2000s.
The second case to appear on the list is Judge McCloud & Ors v The Lord Chancellor, in which Ben Collins acts on behalf of the Government Legal Department. The case is a joint action challenging against changes to the judicial pension scheme and as to whether these changes are unlawful on the grounds of discrimination.
