Overview

Camilla has been an Employment Judge since 2001 and is now a Judicial Mediator.

In 2001 Camilla set up Palmer Wade, a small firm specialising in employment discrimination.  In 2008, she became Head of the Leigh Day Employment Team and helped grow the team.  She represented Miriam O’Reilly in her age and sex discrimination case against the BBC.

In March 2014 Camilla established the innovative legal charity, YESS (Your Employment Settlement Service) which gives legal advice to employers and employees about how to resolve workplace disputes without litigation.  YESS’s strapline is Life’s too short to litigate’.

After qualifying as a Mediator (with CEDR) in 2018, Camilla now spends  her time mediating which includes Judicial Mediation.  She manages a free London online mediation service DRAW (Dispute Resolution Assistance in the Workplace) which is funded by Trust for London.

Camilla is currently a member of the Workplace Committee of the Civil Mediation Council and is on the Steering Group of ELAN (Employment Legal Advice Network) the aim of which is to improve the effectiveness of the London employment rights sector.  For 5 years she was a member of the Equal Treatment Advisory Board and contributed to the Equal Treatment Bench Book and JSB website.

Camilla has written extensively and trained on Discrimination Law and Maternity and Parental Rights.

In 2015 Camilla was made an honorary QC.
